HXC SurvivalCraft Launcher

The launcher finds your World of Warcraft 3.3.5a client and keeps the launcher
and selected server's client files up to date whenever you press Play. Choose
Fresh or Survival from one HXC SurvivalCraft launcher.

First-time Windows setup
------------------------
Windows identifies signed releases with the existing HXC publisher
certificate. Before you trust it, compare the certificate's SHA-1 thumbprint
with the value the realm owner gives you through a separate channel. Do not
trust a fingerprint shown only on this HTTP website.

SHA-1 thumbprint: 2D1ACDAFC631F92A2151750335E912C0FFCB7D3D

After the thumbprint matches, open HXC-HoorCraft-CodeSigning.cer and install it
for Current User in both Trusted Root Certification Authorities and Trusted
Publishers. Then download and run HxcLauncher.exe.

If Windows Defender reports a malware threat, stop. Do not disable Defender,
restore a quarantined older launcher, or add an exclusion. Contact the realm
owner with the detection details.

Server profiles
---------------
Choose Fresh or Survival in the launcher. Each profile installs its own
server-specific addons and patches, alongside the shared HXC client files.
Switching profiles removes only HXC-managed files from the previous profile;
other addons and personal client files are preserved. The realm selection is
still made in World of Warcraft when you log in.

Patch notes
-----------
After the launcher connects to the signed release catalog, choose Patch Notes
to see the latest notes for the selected profile. The notes and client files
are published together; changing Fresh or Survival changes which notes you
see. The launcher shows the latest release only.

Release updates
---------------
Press Play to check for the latest signed launcher release and the selected
profile's client files. The launcher verifies the signed release catalog and
each downloaded file's size and SHA-256 before installing updates. The realm
owner publishes updates from the hxc-realm repository after changing the game
files. Future launcher and client releases arrive through Play.

Players using launcher 1.3.4 or 1.3.5 can open it and press Play to receive HXC
SurvivalCraft 1.3.6. It installs the update and restarts automatically.
Players using 1.3.3 or earlier need to download and run the current launcher
once; those versions cannot update themselves. After that, Play installs future
launcher and client releases.

The signed release catalog is served from `/client/manifest.json` on the
launcher portal configured by the release.

After a manifest-signing key rotation, older launcher builds cannot verify the
new release manifest. Friends using an older launcher must manually download
and install the current launcher once; later launcher and game updates can be
installed through the launcher.
